Two Arrested in Connection with Cultural Performer’s Death

Police solve murder case in Bathinda following investigation into personal dispute

Bathinda, Sept 18: The Canal Colony police in Bathinda have cracked a recent murder case involving the death of local cultural performer Raghveer Singh, who was found beaten to death at his rented residence in Arjun Nagar. Officers have taken two suspects into custody and recovered the weapon used in the incident along with the victim’s missing mobile phone.

Superintendent of Police (City) Aaswant Singh Dhaliwal declared that detailed investigation led officers to identify Kirandeep Singh and Soni Singh, both residents of Behman Diwana village, as the primary suspects. The official maintained that the incident stemmed from ongoing personal friction among the individuals involved. Following a series of disagreements over living arrangements, the two accused allegedly plotted the attack, with Soni Singh executing the fatal assault using a hammer.

Law enforcement authorities confirmed that formal legal proceedings were initiated following a complaint filed by the victim’s sister, Ravinder Kaur. Investigators have recovered the hammer used in the crime alongside the deceased’s mobile device from the possession of the accused. Both individuals remain in police custody as further procedural formalities continue.
