MOGA, SEPT 18: Law enforcement officials in Moga successfully foiled a planned armed confrontation between two rival factions near the Nihal Singh Wala area. Police personnel apprehended five individuals and confiscated an extensive cache of firearms, ammunition, and vehicles intended for use in the conflict.
Senior Superintendent of Police Sartaj Singh Chahal affirmed that operational units acted promptly following specific intelligence regarding an impending clash at the local Dana Mandi. The arrested individuals—identified as Mahinder Singh, Gurvinder Singh, Gurpreet Singh, Amrinder Singh, and Satvant Singh—were intercepted during a targeted check post operation before any violence could escalate.
Authorities seized eight firearms during the raid, including pump-action rifles, a .30-06 rifle, a .315-bore rifle, and multiple .32-bore and .45-bore pistols, along with eight magazines and one hundred six live cartridges. Officers also impounded two SUVs used by the suspects. Police officials declared that the accused will be produced in court to secure custody, allowing investigators to trace the supply chain of the weapons and identify associated networks.
