Chandigarh, 2 January 2025: The Punjab government, under Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, is revolutionizing the state’s education sector with the establishment of 118 ultra-modern ‘Schools of Eminence’ across 23 districts.

These schools are setting new standards in education and creating opportunities for a brighter future for government school students.

Launched over the past two and a half years, the initiative has dramatically increased enrollment in government schools, signaling a significant shift in public trust toward state-run institutions.

Building on this success, 100 senior secondary schools have been transformed into ‘Schools of Brilliance’ and 100 primary schools into ‘Schools of Happiness,’ echoing the model of the Schools of Eminence.

To further enhance accessibility, the state has introduced free transport services for students commuting from distant areas.

Besides, a Rs. 35 crore budget has been allocated to provide free uniforms for students in 17 government senior secondary schools for girls.

This ambitious program, aimed at tripling the number of Schools of Eminence by the next session, is earning widespread praise.

Students from these schools have begun showcasing exceptional achievements, reinforcing Punjab’s rising prominence in the national education landscape.
