Chandigarh, June 29: The Punjab Government has initiated administrative proceedings against several cooperative sector officials following a detailed inspection into agricultural supply distributions. A formal review conducted by the Department of Cooperation resulted in major penalty charge sheets being issued to seven key personnel, alongside the strategic transfer of another officer. The comprehensive steps are designed to ensure complete transparency and maintain the quality of essential inputs provided to the regional farming community.
Authorities have prioritized a swift evaluation process to address operational lapses effectively. A senior state spokesperson stated that specialized fact-finding committees were instantly formed under the guidance of the administrative secretary. He affirmed that the management boards of MARKFED and MILKFED have been tasked with overseeing immediate corrective strategies to secure administrative accountability.
“The Department of Cooperation has taken prompt, comprehensive and time-bound action in the matter,” the spokesperson asserted, explaining that disciplinary proceedings are moving ahead under applicable service frameworks.
The internal inquiry revealed that the administrative actions are centered around the operations of the Khanna Cattle Feed Plant and associated distribution networks. Specific measures include charge sheets directed at general managers, quality assurance specialists, and procurement heads across both cooperative federations. Additionally, a show-cause notice has been delivered to a chief manager to review compliance parameters, while the administrative transfer of a commercial division assistant has been executed to facilitate a balanced investigation.
