JALANDHAR, DEC 28 – A high-speed trolley collided with an ambulance near the Chougitti Flyover on Saturday morning, leaving the ambulance driver dead and the patient being transported critically injured.
The accident occurred as the ambulance, en route to Jalandhar for treatment, was hit from behind, causing it to lose control and overturn. The patient was rushed to the hospital in another ambulance and is currently receiving treatment.
Ramamandi police station in-charge Parminder Singh confirmed the driver’s death and stated that an investigation is underway. A case has been registered, and both damaged vehicles have been seized by the police.
Authorities promptly cleared the overturned ambulance with the help of a crane, restoring traffic flow. The driver’s body has been sent to Civil Hospital Jalandhar for postmortem.
