Patna, 21 January 2025: In a peculiar development from Bihar’s Samastipur district, a resident named Mukesh Chaudhary has filed a legal case against Congress leader and Lok Sabha MP Rahul Gandhi, alleging financial loss caused by the politician’s remarks.

The petitioner claimed that a controversial statement by Gandhi led him to drop a bucket of milk worth ₹250, prompting the legal action.

Chaudhary, a resident of Sonupur village, approached the Rosera sub-divisional court seeking charges against Gandhi under multiple sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, including Section 152 related to sedition.

Chaudhary shared a copy of the petition with the media, although it is unclear if the court has admitted the case.

Explaining his grievance, Chaudhary said he was “shocked” after hearing Gandhi’s recent remarks in New Delhi, accusing the BJP, RSS, and Indian State of unfair practices.

“I was in such a state of shock that my bucket filled with five liters of milk, valued at ₹50 per liter, slipped from my hand. Rahul Gandhi’s statements are a threat to the nation’s sovereignty,” he alleged.

The remarks in question were made during Gandhi’s address to Congress leaders at the inauguration of the party’s new headquarters on Kotla Road in Delhi.

Gandhi reportedly said, “Do not think we are fighting a fair fight. There is no fairness in this. The BJP and the RSS have captured every single institution in our country. We are now fighting the BJP, the RSS, and the Indian State itself.”

The filing of the petition, though unusual, has drawn attention to the polarizing nature of political discourse. It remains to be seen whether the court will accept the case or dismiss it.
