Mohali, August 9: Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann attended the inaugural performance of the acclaimed theatrical play ‘Hamare Ram’ in Mohali, marking the start of a cultural initiative spanning 12 cities across Punjab. The state government declared that 41 performances of the production will be organized free of cost during August and September to promote cultural heritage, moral values, and traditional arts among the public.
Addressing attendees at the opening event, the Chief Minister affirmed that the public initiative seeks to make timeless epic teachings accessible to people from all walks of life. He noted that the production features internationally recognized actor Ashutosh Rana in a prominent role, supported by a 150-member cast bringing world-class stagecraft and traditional storytelling to local audiences.
The Chief Minister asserted that the free theatrical series will cover major urban centers including Amritsar, Ludhiana, Jalandhar, Bathinda, Ferozepur, Patiala, and Hoshiarpur. He declared that cultural programs play a vital role in fostering social cohesion, mutual respect, and ethical values among the youth while keeping future generations connected to historical legacy.
Highlighting ongoing state efforts, the Chief Minister maintained that the government has expanded budgetary support for cultural promotion and heritage preservation. He recalled previous successful state-organized cultural programs and affirmed that upcoming events will continue to celebrate the diverse spiritual and historical traditions of the region.
