Chandigarh, 26 November 2024 – Two blasts disrupted the quiet of Chandigarh’s Sector 26 early Monday morning, targeting Sevillee, a bar and lounge owned by rapper Badshah, and a neighboring club, De’Orra. The incident, which occurred at around 3:30 a.m., caused damage to De’Orra but left Sevillee unscathed.

CCTV footage captured two suspects arriving on a motorcycle outside Sevillee. One of them was seen throwing an explosive device at De’Orra’s entrance. The blast shattered the club’s glass windows, though no injuries were reported. According to employees, both establishments were empty at the time.

Police confirmed receiving a call about a loud noise near SCO No. 23 in Sector 26. Investigators recovered broken jute rope pieces from the site, believed to be remnants of the explosive device.

This incident comes just two months after a grenade attack on the residence of a retired police officer in Chandigarh’s Sector 10. That September 11 explosion caused minor property damage but no injuries. Police later arrested two individuals, linking the attack to Pakistan-based terrorist Harwinder Singh alias Rinda of Babbar Khalsa International and US-based Harpreet Singh alias Happy Passia.

Director General of Police Gaurav Yadav had described the earlier arrests as a major breakthrough, revealing the recovery of a 9 mm Glock pistol and ammunition. One of the accused, identified as Rohan Masih from Amritsar, was taken into custody during a joint operation with central agencies.

Authorities are now investigating possible connections between the two incidents, though no conclusions have been drawn. “The timing and nature of these attacks are concerning, but it’s too early to speculate on any direct links,” an officer said.

As the investigation unfolds, police are analyzing the latest CCTV footage and urging witnesses to come forward.
