Chandigarh: The Punjab Government led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann remains dedicated to considering and addressing every legitimate demand of state employees, stated Cabinet Minister for Industries and Commerce Aman Arora. Describing the three crore residents of Punjab and government employees as part of one shared family, the Minister noted that the administration seeks to resolve outstanding issues through constructive dialogue, mutual understanding, and a positive approach.
Addressing employee concerns, the Minister affirmed that substantial steps have already been taken to improve working conditions and benefits. The administration has implemented a decision to provide 60% Dearness Allowance for approximately 85,000 employees recruited after July 17, 2020, bringing their rates on par with the Central Government scale.
Regarding broader DA and arrears matters, the Minister maintained that the government respects the judicial process as the issue remains before the Supreme Court, while keeping administrative channels open for open discussions.
Appealing to employee organizations to call off the ongoing strike and resume public service, the Minister asserted that governance works best when officers and administration operate on the same side. The primary objective of the leadership remains ensuring seamless public administration without causing unnecessary hardship to citizens, with doors staying open to find a constructive way forward together.
