Ludhiana: The Municipal Corporation (MC) Ludhiana has exceeded its six-month property tax recovery target of Rs 111 crore, collecting approximately Rs 113 crore as of Monday evening.
Under the guidance of MC Commissioner Aaditya Dachalwal, the civic body has amassed around Rs 73 crore in the last 15 days, from September 16 to September 30.
On September 30 alone, over Rs 10 crore was collected as many residents visited MC suvidha kendras to pay their taxes and take advantage of a 10 percent rebate, which is no longer available after the deadline.
The MC chief commended zonal commissioners and their teams for meeting their recovery targets.
Zone A aimed for Rs 16.40 crore, Zone B had a target of Rs 29.10 crore, Zone C set its goal at Rs 17 crore, and Zone D aimed for Rs 48.50 crore. All zones successfully surpassed their designated targets.
