NHM Punjab Partners with Indian Bank

Chandigarh, November 27: The National Health Mission (NHM) Punjab has signed a significant agreement with Indian Bank to provide cashless medical insurance coverage to its 8,000 medical, para-medical, and other staff. The initiative aims to support frontline workers delivering essential health services across the state.

The agreement, signed by Mission Director Ghanshyam Thori and Indian Bank Field General Manager Sandeep Kumar Ghoshal, was finalized in the presence of Punjab Health and Family Welfare Minister Dr. Balbir Singh.

Highlighting the risks faced by health workers, Dr. Singh stated that the partnership offers comprehensive benefits, including cashless medical insurance coverage of up to ₹2 lakh per employee and group accidental death insurance of up to ₹40 lakh. The scheme will ensure employees can access necessary medical treatments and hospitalizations without financial strain.

The three-year insurance plan, with an annual cost of ₹4 crore and a total outlay of ₹12 crore, will be entirely funded by Indian Bank. This initiative marks a significant step in prioritizing the welfare of healthcare providers in Punjab.
