‘No Concerns for Farmers, Soldiers’: Congress Slams BJP In Hisar Rally

Hisar: During a rally in the Hansi Assembly segment of Hisar district, Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge criticized the BJP for their lack of concern for farmers and soldiers, particularly in light of the ongoing Haryana elections.

Former Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda, who attended the rally, praised Kharge for his role in initiating important infrastructure projects in the area, such as the Meham-Hansi-Hisar rail line and a four-lane road connecting Hansi to Sirsa.

Hooda accused the BJP of falsely claiming these accomplishments as their own, asserting that Kharge laid the groundwork for these projects long before the BJP came to power.

“The BJP shows no regard for soldiers or farmers. There are no farmers in the RSS and BJP,” Kharge stated.

He pointed out that while the Congress-led UPA government waived Rs 72,000 crore in loans for farmers, the BJP allegedly forgave Rs 16 lakh crore in loans for wealthy individuals like Ambani and Adani, without providing any real assistance to struggling farmers.

Kharge further criticized the BJP for not fulfilling its promises regarding the minimum support price (MSP) for farmers and for imposing GST on agricultural products.

“We must not forget the sacrifice of the 750 farmers who lost their lives during the farmers’ movement,” he said.

Kharge also condemned the BJP’s Agniveer scheme, labeling it an insult to soldiers. “The Congress ensured permanent jobs and pensions for our armed forces,” he added.
