Jodhpur, July 4: A significant expansion of regional aviation infrastructure took place in Rajasthan on Saturday, as the new terminal building at Jodhpur Airport was officially inaugurated alongside the launch of a modified regional connectivity scheme. Accompanied by Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma, the Prime Minister unveiled the modern facility, which is engineered to handle up to two million travelers every year. Developed by the administration at a total investment of ₹480 crore, the vast terminal incorporates sustainable engineering solutions with the goal of securing a premier five-star environmental certification.

The structural blueprint of the facility integrates energy-efficient utilities and strict water conservation systems into an aesthetic inspired by local royal architecture. This major infrastructure upgrade is planned to act as an economic engine for the region, strengthening local tourism networks, creating new employment avenues, and expanding trade opportunities. Following the initial ceremonies, state officials shifted focus to a broader development drive, moving to Balotra to introduce an expansive suite of public welfare and industrial projects valued at approximately ₹1.06 lakh crore.

The administration asserted that the latest policy changes to the domestic flight program are backed by long-term financial commitments to make air travel universally accessible.

“Ude Desh ka Aam Nagrik,” declared the Prime Minister’s Office via an official release, affirming that the modified aviation initiative will accelerate the country’s next phase of development. Administrative representatives stated that a substantial budget allocation of ₹28,840 crore has been secured for the upcoming decade to systematically expand flight routes to underserved areas and ensure balanced regional growth.
