NEW DELHI, AUGUST 3: President Droupadi Murmu met Uzbekistan Foreign Minister Bakhtiyor Saidov at Rashtrapati Bhavan on Monday, affirming India’s commitment to further strengthening strategic and bilateral ties with the Central Asian country.
Welcoming the visiting dignitary and his accompanying delegation, President Murmu pointed to the centuries-old civilisational and cultural links connecting both nations through historic trade routes.
President Droupadi Murmu stated that shared heritage across architecture, language, culinary traditions, and music serves as an enduring foundation for current bilateral partnership. She affirmed that the presence of high-level delegates and the organization of the India-Uzbekistan Business Forum alongside the visit reflect growing commercial confidence between the two markets.
Discussions covered broad economic avenues, with specific focus on critical rare earth minerals, mining collaboration, agriculture, pharmaceuticals, and information technology.
Referring to educational and technical cooperation, President Droupadi Murmu declared that over 3,000 Uzbek officials, students, and professionals have benefited from India’s technical training courses and scholarships, while more than 16,000 Indian students are pursuing higher studies in Uzbekistan. She affirmed that these human exchanges act as a vital bridge between both societies, fostering deeper mutual understanding.
