Chandigarh, August 5: The Mukh Mantri Sehat Yojana has recorded significant expansion across Punjab, providing cashless treatment worth over 1,044 crore rupees to 2,91,417 beneficiaries since January 8, 2026.
Health and Family Welfare Minister Dr Balbir Singh affirmed that the primary metric of the healthcare initiative remains its ability to deliver timely medical care directly to citizens during critical health emergencies.
Data compiled by the State Health Agency reveals that Patiala district recorded the highest number of beneficiaries at 27,892, followed closely by Bathinda with 22,584 and Ludhiana with 21,729 patients, demonstrating widespread utilization across urban and rural centers alike.
Medical coverage under the scheme has successfully supported patients across diverse healthcare needs, ranging from cardiac interventions to complex surgeries and maternal care.
Beneficiaries shared experiences of receiving free cardiac procedures, knee replacement surgeries, and specialized neonatal care without encountering financial strain. Dr Balbir Singh stated that the administration remains focused on strengthening healthcare delivery networks, updating treatment capabilities, and ensuring that cashless medical support reaches every eligible resident across all twenty-three districts seamlessly.
