Amritsar, November 18, 2024: Senior Congress leader and MP Rahul Gandhi is set to arrive in Amritsar late Monday evening, making an unscheduled visit following his trip to Jharkhand. Sources within the party confirmed that Gandhi will fly in on a private plane, heading directly to the local Mand Hotel upon arrival.
According to reports, Gandhi plans to pay obeisance at Sri Harmandir Sahib, also known as the Golden Temple, later in the evening. He is expected to participate in the kirtan of divine Gurbani during his visit. Following the prayer session, he will spend the night in Amritsar and depart for Delhi the next morning.
District Congress Committee President Ashwini Pappu noted that while he had received information about Gandhi’s arrival, the party has yet to confirm any official details about his itinerary in the city.
“We have just been informed that Rahul Gandhi is coming to Amritsar, but there is no confirmation yet regarding his schedule or engagements here,” Pappu stated.
Gandhi’s visit to the Golden Temple is seen as a significant gesture, reflecting the Congress party’s ongoing efforts to connect with the Sikh community ahead of upcoming elections.
