New Delhi, December 4, 2024 – Security has been heightened as Congress leaders Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi Vadra plan to visit violence-stricken Sambhal. Authorities blocked their convoy at the Ghazipur border between Delhi and Noida, sparking clashes between Congress workers and police.

Party workers attempted to breach barricades, leading to heavy traffic disruptions at the site. Chaos ensued as workers clashed with law enforcement, further complicating the situation. Barricades remain in place to prevent the leaders from proceeding toward Sambhal.

The Sambhal administration has requested neighboring districts, including Bulandshahr, Amroha, Ghaziabad, and Gautam Buddha Nagar, to halt the Congress leaders’ convoy. The District Magistrate has also directed officials to monitor Rahul Gandhi’s movements en route to Sambhal.

Rigorous vehicle checks are underway along the Delhi-Sambhal route, with barricades installed at multiple points. The measures have caused massive traffic jams, particularly along the Delhi-Meerut Expressway.

Authorities are prioritizing maintaining law and order amid the high-profile visit, citing concerns about escalating tensions in the violence-affected region.
