Chandigarh, October 25, 2024: Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini conducted a inclusive review of several key urban development initiatives, focusing on the progress of Samadhan Shivirs, sanitation drives, efforts to make city roads free of stray cattle, property ID issues, regularization of colonies, and road repairs.
During the meeting with district municipal commissioners and municipal commissioners, Saini stressed that transforming Gurugram into a smart city remains the state government’s top priority. “Officers should expedite cleanliness initiatives in Gurugram. Civic bodies performing well in the swachhata campaign will be honored,” he stated, underscoring the importance of the cleanliness drive.
Addressing the issue of drainage maintenance, the CM warned that any agency mishandling drainage cleaning efforts would be blacklisted. He called for an acceleration of road repair and re-carpeting work, stating, “The grievance of every complainant should be resolved on a priority basis in the Samadhan Shivirs.”
Saini noted that Samadhan Shivirs are currently being held at all 88 municipalities for two hours each morning. He directed officials to promptly address the backlog concerning property IDs, insisting that a district-wise roadmap be developed to resolve any discrepancies swiftly.
The CM also urged citizens not to abandon cattle and mandated timely relocation of stray animals to gaushalas and nandishalas. “The state government has allocated a separate budget for gaushalas and nandishalas,” he said, adding, “Those who abandon their cattle should be identified and punished according to the law.”
In reviewing the Svamita Yojana, a central scheme designed to provide a ‘Record of Rights’ to village household owners, Saini directed officers to eliminate any backlog of Svamita cards by November 30. He instructed that a specific day be designated for distributing these cards during the Samadhan Shivirs.
