Chandigarh, August 11: Chief of the Army Staff General Dhiraj Seth called on Haryana Governor Prof Ashim Kumar Ghosh at Raj Bhavan on Tuesday to discuss key aspects of civil-military coordination and regional security.
The high-level meeting marked the Army Chief’s first official interaction with the Governor since assuming command of the Indian Army. Senior military and civil leadership attended the dialogue, including Western Command Commander Lieutenant General Pushpendra Singh, Lady Governor Mitra Ghosh, and Secretary to the Governor Vijaykumar Bhavikatti.
Officials discussed a broad spectrum of strategic issues, ranging from youth empowerment and the employment of Agniveers to housing projects for military personnel and ongoing efforts toward defense self-reliance.
Reaffirming the armed forces’ dedication to regional stability and disaster response, General Dhiraj Seth assured the Governor of the Indian Army’s unwavering commitment and resolve toward national security and nation-building.
The leaders evaluated disaster management frameworks, outlining preparatory and mitigation protocols aimed at minimizing the impact of natural calamities in the state. The interaction also celebrated the achievements of state-born army athletes, with officials praising the exemplary performance of military sports personalities belonging to Haryana. The strategic session concluded with an official exchange of mementos to honor the partnership between civil governance and defense institutions.
