CHANDIGARH, JUNE 14 — Punjab Vidhan Sabha Speaker Kultar Singh Sandhwan has called on parents across the state to dedicate maximum time to their children to foster stronger domestic bonds and shield the younger generation from negative influences. The appeal comes alongside a major law enforcement milestone, with the state administration detaining over 67,000 alleged drug smugglers as part of an expansive, multi-tiered campaign against narcotics.

The Speaker affirmed that the state maintains a firm stance against illegal substances, ensuring that anyone involved in trafficking will face severe legal consequences. He noted that while law enforcement has systematically disrupted primary supply networks to protect local youth, total success relies on a shared partnership between the government and the community.

“The Punjab Government has intensified its decisive campaign against drug abuse, resulting in the arrest of more than 67,000 drug smugglers till date,” Speaker Sandhwan stated. “Eradicating addiction requires active participation between the government and the community.”

Addressing the root causes of substance abuse, the Speaker declared that close parental supervision and emotional support during formative years serve as critical deterrents against addiction. He maintained that households must actively engage with youth to guide them away from harmful habits while encouraging a productive lifestyle.

The legislative leader asserted that the state’s youth should fully embrace athletics and physical fitness to cultivate a healthier lifestyle. He expressed that young citizens ought to channel their focus toward academic milestones and athletic achievements rather than destructive behaviors.

To further strengthen these efforts, public cooperation remains vital. The state administration is asking residents to act responsibly by relaying any information regarding suspicious, drug-related activities directly to law enforcement officials.

Speaker Sandhwan concluded by stating that information provided by citizens will be managed with complete confidentiality. He reiterated that the administration assumed office with a solemn resolution to eliminate the drug menace, and public assistance provides the final, essential link to secure the state’s future.
