Chandigarh, June 16: The Aam Aadmi Party addressed recent political friction regarding religious governance in the region, stating that regional political factions are attempting to leverage sacred institutions to counter repeated setbacks at the polls. Party State Media In-Charge Baltej Pannu stated that a disputed analytical document recently introduced into the public sphere fails to verify the identity of the individual featured in the footage, calling it part of a broader effort to alter public perception.
The media representative noted that the administration under Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann has successfully enacted rigorous legislative measures designed to protect the sanctity of religious texts. He affirmed that previous administrations faced significant public scrutiny over their management of sensitive historical incidents, including events at Kotkapura and Behbal Kalan. He maintained that current institutional decisions appear influenced by specific political interests, pointing out that senior appointments within regional committees were concluded without the standard consensus among diverse community organizations.
In addition to addressing administrative integrity, the party outlined major shifts in regional resource management over the past four years. Baltej Pannu stated that the reach of the canal water network has expanded considerably from 21 percent to 80 percent across agricultural zones. He declared that rural communities now receive consistent daytime electricity while eligible households are provided with comprehensive healthcare coverage up to ten lakh rupees. He asserted that these documented policy outcomes have consistently secured public support during municipal and local council elections, offering a distinct alternative to historical governance models.
