Thick Fog Grounds Flights at Srinagar Airport

SRINAGAR, Jan 3: Heavy fog in the Kashmir Valley caused a halt to flight operations at Srinagar International Airport on Friday morning, as poor visibility made conditions unsafe for air travel.

Srinagar Airport Director Javed Anjum explained that flights had been delayed due to limited visibility. “Currently, all flights are on hold. We anticipate conditions will improve later today, and flights may resume landing and departing by the afternoon or within a few hours,” he said.

The dense fog, which settled over the region early in the morning, has also posed challenges for commuters, making travel on the roads difficult across the valley.
