Patiala, 11 February 2025: Patiala Police have arrested three individuals involved in cases of murder, Arms Act violations, and drug trafficking across Punjab and Chandigarh, seizing a large cache of weapons, officials said on Tuesday.
Among those arrested, one had ties to gangsters and was wanted in a murder case.
The accused, identified as Dildar Khan alias Dila (Mohali), Kulwinder Singh (Mansa), and Maninder Singh alias Laddu (Patiala), were caught with four .32-bore pistols, one .315-bore pistol, and 21 cartridges.
Addressing a press conference, SSP Dr. Nanak Singh stated that acting on confidential information, police arrested Dildar Khan from Abchal Nagar Focal Point and recovered two .32-bore pistols and eight cartridges.
Khan had been convicted in a 2020 Arms Act and drug trafficking case in Chandigarh and was also wanted in a July 16, 2024, assault case at Banur toll plaza.
Kulwinder Singh was arrested from under the bypass DCW bridge, with two .32-bore pistols and 10 cartridges recovered from him.
In a separate operation, Maninder Singh was nabbed from Adhwala Pir Sanaur Road, with police seizing a .315-bore country-made pistol and three cartridges.
According to the SSP, Dildar Khan and Kulwinder Singh had close ties with gangsters, while Maninder Singh is under further interrogation. All three have been booked under relevant sections at Anaj Mandi and Sanaur police stations, and will be produced in court for remand.
