CHANDIGARH, June 22— High-velocity winds and light rainfall are expected across Punjab, Haryana, and Chandigarh over the next few days, providing brief relief from the seasonal heat. The Indian Meteorological Department declared that an active western disturbance will trigger isolated to scattered precipitation across the northwest plains, carrying through until June 25 before shifting patterns.

Meteorological tracking suggests that while daytime temperatures may experience a minor increase of two to three degrees Celsius, severe heatwave conditions are not anticipated during this phase. Weather officials maintained that the upcoming precipitation will likely be accompanied by widespread lightning and gusty winds, blowing at speeds between 40 to 50 kilometers per hour, with occasional surges hitting 60 kilometers per hour.

The regional administration affirmed that persistent humidity will characterize the local atmosphere as the current weather systems interact over the plains. Forecasters stated that the impending rain showers are separate from the primary southwest seasonal system, which continues its gradual movement across the subcontinent.

“Isolated to scattered rain will take place in Punjab, Haryana and Chandigarh over the next three to four days till June 25 due to western disturbances,” asserted Surender Paul, Director of the IMD Chandigarh center. “Humid conditions will persist.”

The weather office declared that the standard seasonal flow is moving systematically from eastern to western India, though its forward progression has encountered a temporary pause in neighboring regions. Regional specialists asserted that atmospheric parameters are slowly turning favorable for the weather fronts to resume their regular track toward the northwest.

“The monsoons flow is progressing from east to west in India,” Surender Paul maintained. “Presently, it is stalled over Bihar. However, conditions are becoming favourable for its further advance.”
