Dubai, March 10 — India’s triumph in the 2025 ICC Champions Trophy came with a total prize of $2.47 million (approximately ₹21.52 crore) as the ICC allocated a record $6.9 million for the tournament—a 53% increase from the 2017 edition.

Runners-up New Zealand received $1.12 million (~₹10 crore), while the two semi-finalists who fell short of the final secured $560,000 each. Teams finishing fifth and sixth earned $350,000, whereas those in seventh and eighth place took home $140,000.

India’s Prize Breakdown:

Champions Prize: $2.24 million (~₹19.53 crore)

Group Stage Wins: $102,000 (~₹88.96 lakh) for victories over Bangladesh, Pakistan, and New Zealand ($34,000 per win)

Participation Fee: $125,000 (~₹1.09 crore)

India clinched their third Champions Trophy title with a four-wicket win over New Zealand, successfully chasing 251 runs.

Rohit Sharma’s 76 off 83 balls and KL Rahul’s unbeaten 34 played pivotal roles in securing the victory.

The win cements India’s position as the world’s top white-ball team, securing back-to-back ICC titles while extending their dominant streak to 22 wins in their last 23 ICC matches.

However, India’s campaign has drawn scrutiny as the team played all its matches in spin-friendly Dubai, avoiding travel to host nation Pakistan due to political tensions.
