CHANDIGARH, May 17 — The Board of School Education Haryana (BSEH) on Saturday declared the Class 10 Annual Examination results for both regular and open school candidates, with girls once again securing higher success rates than boys.
Board Chairman Dr. Pawan Kumar, announcing the results at a press conference, said 2,71,499 students appeared for the regular examinations, of whom 2,51,110 passed, pushing the overall pass percentage to 92.49%.
Girls registered a higher success rate of 94.06% — 121,566 out of 129,249 — while 91.07% of boys passed (129,544 out of 142,250), giving girls a lead of nearly 3 percentage points.
“Year after year, girls continue to raise the performance bar, and this year is no exception,” said Dr. Kumar.
Among government school students, 89.30% cleared the exams, compared to 96.28% in private schools. Urban candidates had a slight edge over their rural counterparts, with a pass percentage of 92.83% versus 92.35%.
Rewari district emerged as the top performer in the state, followed by Charkhi Dadri and Mahendragarh. Nuh district recorded the lowest pass rate.
In the open school category, results varied widely. Among fresh candidates, only 1,193 out of 7,554 passed — a success rate of just 15.79%. The boys’ pass percentage was 14.59% (688 out of 4,714), while girls fared slightly better at 17.78% (505 out of 2,840).
Re-appear candidates in open school showed improved performance, with 3,930 out of 5,596 passing — a 70.23% success rate.
Vice Chairman Satish Kumar noted that 3,243 private self-study candidates appeared for the exams, and 2,370 of them passed, marking a pass rate of 73.08%.
Board Secretary Munish Nagpal announced that results for other open school categories — Improvement, Additional Subject, and Mercy Chance — have also been published.
Students seeking re-evaluation or rechecking of their answer sheets can apply online within 20 days of result declaration by paying the applicable fee, Nagpal added.
