BRAMPTON, Dec 13 — Canadian police have arrested three Indian-origin brothers in connection with a shootout between rival tow-truck groups in Brampton, while a fourth suspect remains at large, Peel Regional Police said.

The shooting occurred around 10:45 p.m. on Oct. 7 in a parking lot near the intersection of McVean Drive and Castlemore Road. Police said an altercation between two groups escalated into gunfire, leaving one person injured. The injuries were not considered life-threatening.

“Gunshots were fired during a confrontation involving two separate groups,” Peel Regional Police said in a statement released along with video footage of the incident.

Following an investigation, officers identified three suspects linked to one of the groups. On Nov. 20, police executed a search warrant at a residence in Caledon, leading to their arrest.

The accused were identified as brothers Manjot Bhatti, Navjot Bhatti and Amanjot Bhatti.

Manjot Bhatti faces multiple charges, including intentional reckless discharge of a firearm, possession of a loaded prohibited firearm, careless storage of a firearm, carrying a concealed weapon, unauthorized possession of a firearm and occupying a vehicle while knowing a firearm was present. Police said he was released on bail following a hearing at the Ontario Court of Justice in Brampton.

Navjot Bhatti and Amanjot Bhatti were charged with travelling in a vehicle while aware a firearm was inside. Both were released on an undertaking and are scheduled to appear in court at a later date.

Police said the individual seen firing the gun has not yet been identified. The suspect is described as a South Asian male wearing a black jacket, blue jeans and white running shoes.
