SAS NAGAR, March 15 — Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann on Saturday announced that the Punjab Government will establish three world-class exhibition centres in Ludhiana, New Chandigarh, and Amritsar. Speaking at the Progressive Punjab Investors Summit, the Chief Minister stated that these facilities, designed on the lines of New Delhi’s Pragati Maidan, will provide the state’s industry with a professional platform to showcase products and bolster commerce.

The Chief Minister asserted that the lack of expansive exhibition spaces has historically hindered the ability of local industries to reach global markets. He maintained that these new hubs are central to the government’s vision of preparing Punjab’s economy for the next 50 years. Mann declared that the state is transitioning from traditional agriculture toward a value-added, export-driven economy.

“Punjab is a land of revolution and our people adopt new ideas quickly,” the Chief Minister stated. He affirmed that while the state remains the food bowl of India, the future lies in food processing and industrial diversification. Mann noted that the government has already increased subsidies for food processing units to 125 percent under the new industrial policy to encourage this shift.

The Chief Minister also declared that the summit has successfully facilitated direct dialogue between investors and the state administration. He maintained that the presence of international companies in Punjab reflects global confidence in the local industrial ecosystem. Mann affirmed that the state is also focusing on renewable energy, particularly bioenergy derived from paddy straw, to build a sustainable circular economy.
