Amritsar, March 15 — Former Deputy Chief Minister of Punjab and MP Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa visited the home of Tajinder Singh in Nangal Dayal Singh, under Jandiala Guru Assembly constituency, today to meet the family of the employee who recently became a target of alleged government excesses.
During the visit, Randhawa inquired about Tajinder Singh’s health and well-being and extended his sympathies, stressing the need for accountability. “It is extremely shameful that the employees whose votes brought the government to power are now facing harassment,” he stated. “The guilty police officials must be punished, and Congress will stand firmly with the family until justice is served.”
Also present was constituency in-charge and former MLA Sukhwinder Singh Danny Bandala, who noted the wider context of government oppression. “Every day, people demanding their rights—whether teachers, farmers, or government employees—are being lathi-charged and tear-gassed,” Bandala said. “The Aam Aadmi Party government is revealing its true face, and the people of Punjab will respond in the upcoming elections.”
Randhawa criticized the current administration’s approach, calling it a failure on multiple fronts. “Punjab has been turned into a police state. The government has lost control over law and order,” he said, urging authorities to focus on public welfare rather than force. He described the incident involving Tajinder Singh as “painful and shameful” and demanded strict legal action against those responsible.
The visit underscores the Congress Party’s commitment to support employees and citizens who have faced alleged injustices under the present government, as party leaders pledged to follow up until proper redress is achieved.
