Hoshiarpur, October 21, 2024: A drive-by shooting in Chakowal village of Hoshiarpur district, Punjab, left a father and son dead on Sunday night.
According to reports, the incident occurred around 8:30 PM when Kashmiri Lal, a resident of Talwandi Arayan, was traveling to Chakowal Hospital with his wife and children to visit a newborn family member.
According to eyewitness accounts, motorcycle-borne assailants intercepted their vehicle and opened fire before fleeing the scene.
Both Kashmiri Lal and his son, Amarjit Lal, sustained severe injuries and were rushed to the hospital, where they were declared dead on arrival.
Preliminary investigations suggest the shooting may be linked to an old rivalry, as a similar incident occurred about four years ago.
Sources indicate that connections to foreign factions hostile to Kashmiri Lal could be involved, as he had returned from abroad a few years prior.
Police are currently investigating the case to uncover further details surrounding the motive and perpetrators.
