New Delhi/Chandigarh, June 16: A major security enforcement operation under the ongoing “Yudh Nashean Virudh” campaign led to the apprehension of an opposition party office-bearer and multiple accomplices in Punjab. The continuous state-wide drive, managed by the administration under Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, remains focused on dismantling organized illicit networks and intercepting local supply routes across various districts.
Aam Aadmi Party National Convenor Arvind Kejriwal noted that the development raises serious concerns regarding internal political networks and their potential intersections with underground illicit trades. He stated that a substantial portion of forbidden substances entering northern borders reportedly transits through standard maritime entry points located in western coastal regions. He affirmed that past alliances involving local political factions established an environment where contraband reached regional neighborhoods with minimal resistance, a factor he declared responsible for destabilizing the well-being of local youth for a considerable period.
Further analyzing the current operational shift, national media coordinator Anurag Dhanda asserted that the state’s aggressive enforcement strategies have systematically broken down primary distribution cartels. He stated that the disruption of conventional supply chains has forced independent political operatives to manage local deliveries directly. He maintained that the administrative mandate should persist in strictly prosecuting any individual found participating in these networks, regardless of organizational status, to protect local communities.
Adding context from the capital, senior party representative Kuldeep Kumar stated that large-scale operations often trace back to bulk shipments arrived via corporate-managed maritime ports. He declared that domestic infrastructure has occasionally been utilized by organized elements to distribute illicit goods deeply into various states. He asserted that the current administrative focus in Punjab is successfully interrupting these business operations, creating clear anxiety among political groups previously accustomed to less regulatory oversight.
