Chandigarh, July 1: The Punjab government has officially notified the implementation of the new Viksit Bharat-Guarantee for Rozgar and Ajeevika Mission (Gramin) framework across all rural territories. The fresh administrative rollout, which officially replaces the previous long-standing Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act, entered into force on Wednesday following a gazette publication.
The updated rural program expands the statutory annual employment guarantee to one-hundred-and-twenty-five days for participating rural households, compared to the previous hundred-day limit. Administrative Secretary Ajit Bala Ji Joshi signed the formal document issued by the department of rural development and panchayats to streamline the transition. Officials stated that existing e-KYC-verified registration cards will retain temporary validity to ensure that manual workers face no immediate disruptions while updated identification cards are prepared.
The notification outlines a balanced coordination structure to manage the national rural development vision. Under the guidelines, current developmental projects will be integrated directly into the new tech-enabled multi-tier grievance and direct benefit payment channels. State representatives declared that the administrative machinery is fully prepared to handle the operational shifts smoothly to protect the livelihoods of rural laborers and poor families across the region.
