Lucknow, July 3: The Uttar Pradesh government has launched a statewide educational campaign for July to integrate environmental conservation into the school system under the ‘Eco Clubs for Mission LiFE’ initiative. The upcoming monthly calendar introduces a structured series of activities aimed at fostering a sustainable lifestyle and practical nature conservation among students. A major component of the project involves the rollout of the ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam 3.0’ plantation drive across school campuses and local neighborhoods.
“The objective is to develop among students a practical approach towards nature conservation, environmental responsibility, and a sustainable lifestyle,” the state framework declared. Officials maintained that the strategy prioritizes active public participation by involving parents and local communities to expand the message beyond school boundaries.
Under the new guidelines, students will take on the role of plant guardians, assuming responsibility for watering, protecting, and monitoring the growth of each newly planted sapling. School Eco Clubs will oversee the progress of these green spaces while leading creative competitions, including poster-making, debates, and nature walks designed to study local biodiversity firsthand. Outstanding student contributors will receive formal recognition during special environmental awareness programs scheduled for the second Saturday of the month.
