New Delhi, July 25: Aam Aadmi Party National Convenor Arvind Kejriwal questioned the central government’s proposal to set up fast-track courts for paper leak cases, describing the assurance as hollow following recent developments in the 2024 NEET investigation.
Addressing the media, Kejriwal maintained that fast-track courts would serve little purpose if investigative agencies fail to produce concrete evidence against key accused individuals.
The AAP chief pointed to a recent report regarding the Central Bureau of Investigation’s submission in court concerning Sanjeev Mukhiya, who was initially identified as a primary suspect in the 2024 NEET paper leak. Kejriwal asserted that clearing key suspects without identifying the actual perpetrators undermines public trust in the investigative process.
“If the investigating agency does not present evidence before the court, then what is the purpose of these fast-track courts?” Kejriwal asked, maintaining that structural reform requires genuine intent rather than legislative announcements. He affirmed that thousands of young students across the nation continue to face distress due to recurring examination compromises.
Kejriwal declared that existing specialized courts for other offenses already face procedural delays, arguing that establishing new judicial tracks will not resolve the issue unless investigative procedures and preventive measures against paper leaks are strengthened.
