New Delhi, August 17: The Bharatiya Janata Party declared its freshly constituted team of national office-bearers on Monday, marking a definitive step in structuring its organisational machinery under national president Nitin Nabin. Coming nearly seven months after the Bihar legislator took charge as the party’s youngest national head, the revised setup brings together seasoned political figures, fresh general secretaries, and balanced regional and social representation. The new structure sets the foundation for party affairs ahead of crucial state contests, including the upcoming assembly polls in Uttar Pradesh.

“Our newly constituted team reflects a strong synthesis of experience, regional dynamics, and dedication to public service,” national president Nitin Nabin stated while discussing the structural transition. “Every member brought into this organisational framework will play a crucial role in expanding our outreach and maintaining robust governance across states.”

In a notable restructuring of core positions, former Union minister Smriti Irani and former general secretary Ram Madhav have stepped back into significant organisational responsibilities. Former Tripura chief minister Biplab Deb joins as a national general secretary, while Union minister Piyush Goyal assumes charge as party treasurer. Meanwhile, Anil Baluni continues in his role managing the media portfolio, ensuring continuity in strategic communications.

Among the eight national general secretaries, Vinod Tawde and Sunil Bansal remain the sole leaders retained from the previous team, reflecting their pivotal organizational work during past state election campaigns. The newly introduced general secretaries include former Basti MP Harish Dwivedi, former Rajasthan BJP chief Satish Poonia, Gajendra Patel, and Sanjay Bhatia. Furthermore, the overall team includes twelve women leaders, with Smriti Irani standing as the single woman general secretary in the core group.

The expanded leadership structure includes sixteen national secretaries, featuring three-term Bulandshahr MP Bhola Singh alongside Rajya Sabha MP Kavita Patidar. Concurrently, party leadership assigned Tarun Chugh, recently elected to the Rajya Sabha, to oversee organisational affairs in poll-bound Punjab. Former Rajasthan chief minister Vasundhara Raje also features prominently within the revised national line-up.

Several long-serving leaders have concluded their tenures in the central team as part of the reshuffle. Leaders such as Arun Singh, who served as general secretary since 2015, Rajya Sabha MP Radha Mohan Das Agrawal, and prominent Dalit leader Dushyant Gautam have cleared space for the new appointees. At forty-six years of age, Nabin’s appointment signals a ongoing generational shift across the party hierarchy as the organization gears up for critical electoral tests.
