Chandigarh: The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Punjab unit voiced sharp criticism against the Congress leadership, urging party leaders to refrain from politicising family tragedies for electoral leverage. AAP leaders stated that the ongoing inquiry into the death of Gulzar Singh must proceed strictly according to law without political interference. Addressing media representatives, state party president Aman Arora affirmed that the populace remembers historical events, asserting that Congress representatives must address questions regarding the 1984 events rather than avoiding public accountability.
Senior cabinet ministers, including Harpal Singh Cheema, Dr. Baljit Kaur, and Dr. Balbir Singh, questioned the reluctance of visiting Congress leaders to address historical queries raised during recent press conferences. Party representatives declared that past administrative tenures allowed narcotics and gang activities to proliferate across the state. They maintained that the current administration under Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann is executing decisive enforcement measures against organized crime, asserting that public welfare priorities will continue to guide state action.
