Sri Anandpur Sahib: Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann announced at a Lok Milni gathering in Jindwari village, near Sri Anandpur Sahib, that canal water availability for agricultural land has expanded significantly under the current administration. The coverage has increased to 80 percent of agricultural fields, compared to 22 percent during previous tenures, with plans in motion to extend access across all farming sectors in the state.
During the event, the Chief Minister distributed grants of Rs 20 lakh each to six local panchayats to support rural development initiatives. He highlighted key welfare measures, including the installation of a 14,000-kilometre canal pipeline network, free domestic power supply, and merit-based recruitment drives for state youth. Addressing local governance and political matters, he maintained that the administration remains focused on public service and asset protection, while criticising opposition parties for prioritizing party politics over state interests. Cabinet Minister Harjot Singh Bains and Lok Sabha MP Malwinder Singh Kang were also present at the gathering.
