Lucknow/Prayagraj, October 28: The Uttar Pradesh Education Service Selection Commission (UPESSC), Prayagraj, has issued a detailed clarification dismissing social media claims regarding reservation anomalies in the recruitment for 17,735 Assistant Teacher (TGT) posts. Commission Chairman Dr. Prashant Kumar reiterated that the reservation policy has been executed with complete transparency and in strict accordance with statutory rules, calling online campaigns by unverified elements baseless and misleading.
Explaining the operational framework, the Commission stated that government-aided secondary schools across Uttar Pradesh function as independent ‘single units’, with the management of each school acting as the appointing authority. The Madhyamik Shiksha Nideshalaya compiled vacant posts on a school-wise, subject-wise, and category-wise basis. Consequently, quota allocations are determined individually according to sanctioned strength at each specific school rather than applied as an aggregate percentage across the statewide pool of vacancies.
Dr. Prashant Kumar noted that this standard procedure aligns with previous recruitment drives, including Advertisement Nos. 01/2022 and 02/2022, which were executed under the exact same legal framework. The state government has also affirmed the factual position through its official social media channel, ‘E-Gyan Ganga-U.P.’
The Commission strongly advised teaching aspirants and the public to refrain from circulating unverified social media posts. Candidates are urged to check only the official UPESSC web portal for authentic notifications and updates regarding the ongoing selection process.
