Bhiwani, Oct 30: A major breach in the Nigana feeder canal has inundated over 150 acres of agricultural land in Biran village in Bhiwani district, leaving extensive standing paddy crops and harvested produce under several feet of water.

Local farmers stated that months of field labor were washed away within hours as canal water flooded neighboring plots. Affected cultivators, including Rajender Yadav and Mahender, noted that attempts to construct emergency mud embankments failed to hold back the rushing water.

Community member Jogender Phogat affirmed that the standing water poses a dual threat to the local farming economy. Beyond destroying current paddy yields, persistent waterlogging risks delaying field preparation for the upcoming rabi sowing season, compounding financial distress across the village.

Villagers urged the district administration to immediately shut off the flow from the Nigana feeder and deploy heavy drainage pumps to clear the accumulated water. Local growers declared that the state government should order a special girdawari crop damage assessment to grant timely financial compensation to all affected farming families.
