Chandigarh, Oct 30: Haryana environmental authorities have directed full enforcement of firecracker restrictions across the state, mandating a complete ban in National Capital Region (NCR) districts alongside conditional exemptions for green crackers in non-NCR areas.
Under state directives issued to district heads and police chiefs, all manufacturing, storage, online sales, and use of firecrackers remain strictly prohibited in NCR districts like Gurugram year-round. Non-NCR regions may use certified green firecrackers, subject to strict daily time slots between 8 pm and 10 pm on Diwali and Gurpurab.
Administrative officials affirmed that e-commerce platforms like Flipkart and Amazon are prohibited from processing or delivering firecracker orders across non-NCR territories. State regulators declared that legal penalties under Section 15 of the Environment (Protection) Act, 1986, will apply to violators across all jurisdictions.
Environmental activists stated that strict ground enforcement remains crucial, pointing out that unchecked sales and bursting continue to challenge regulatory directives during peak pollution months.
