The directive aims to reduce fuel consumption, alleviate local traffic congestion, and encourage sustainable commuting practices across administrative hubs.
To facilitate smooth transit for affected personnel, the transport department deployed dedicated bus services operating across 17 distinct routes connecting the tricity region. The specialized transit network serves employees stationed at major administrative centers, including the Union Territory Secretariat, the Punjab Civil Secretariat, and the Punjab and Haryana High Court.
“The transport arrangements are fully active to ensure that official duties face zero disruption while transitioning to eco-friendly commuting,” a senior administrative official asserted regarding the logistical rollout.
