Ambala, June 30: A massive multi-agency rescue operation is actively underway in Dhanaura village after a four-year-old boy tumbled into an open borewell on Tuesday morning. Teams from the Indian Army, National Disaster Response Force (NDRF), and State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) have established a unified command at the site to pull the child out safely.
The rescue administration has deployed heavy excavation machinery and lowered high-tech visual equipment to maintain continuous surveillance on the child’s status. The operational parameters present a significant technical challenge, as the shaft measures approximately 220 feet deep with a narrow opening of just nine inches in diameter.
Deputy Commissioner Ajay Tomer affirmed that the administration is prepared for a prolonged extraction process. “The boy slipped into the borewell while playing,” Tomer declared. “The NDRF is trying to rescue him using specialised equipment, while the Army has been deployed with heavy machinery. If the initial rescue attempt is not successful, a parallel pit will be dug.”
The incident occurred at approximately 7 am when the victim, identified as Nirbhay, walked out toward the local agricultural fields alongside his family members. Local police cordoned off the area immediately after the family raised an alarm, allowing emergency vehicles and heavy Earth-moving equipment uninterrupted access to the site.
