MUMBAI, 13 October, 2024: Baba Siddique, 66, a former three-time MLA from Bandra West and a member of the Ajit Pawar faction of the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP), was shot dead last night in Bandra East. The shooting occurred near his son Zeeshan’s office during Dussehra festivities.

Police said at least six bullets were fired, four of which struck Siddique in the chest. Three men carried out the attack, and two suspects arrested have claimed affiliation with the Lawrence Bishnoi gang, according to sources. However, the gang has yet to take responsibility for the murder.

Siddique was under ‘Y’ category security at the time, and police suspect the killing could be a contract hit.

Security Increased Outside Salman Khan’s Residence

Following Siddique’s death, security was heightened outside actor Salman Khan’s residence, Galaxy Apartments, in Bandra. Khan and Siddique were close friends, and the murder comes six months after shots were fired at Khan’s home, allegedly by members of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang.
