Chandigarh, June 26: The official portal of the Chandigarh School Education Department crashed on Friday, disrupting the ongoing online admission process for Class XI in government senior secondary schools. The technical failure has left thousands of applicants unable to access the primary registration platform during a peak traffic window.
In response to the crisis, education authorities issued an emergency public notice directing students and parents to utilize the main Chandigarh Administration portal to submit their application forms. The sudden surge in traffic follows the recent declaration of Class X board results, which typically causes a massive influx of applicants competing for streams across science, commerce, and arts.
To ensure continuity, the department stated that applicants must now navigate to the public notice section of the administration’s website to find the alternative registration link. “Link for Admission to XI in Govt. Senior Secondary Schools of UT Chandigarh” has been made active on the backup platform to accommodate the high-stakes registration drive.
Department officials maintained that the crash was caused by an unforeseen technical issue. While the alternative link is functioning, the administration has not yet declared any extension of the registration deadline, causing concern among families from the Tricity region who face digital accessibility challenges.
