Imphal, 14 February 2025: A CRPF jawan allegedly shot and killed two colleagues before taking his own life at a camp in Manipur’s Imphal West district on Thursday night, official sources said.
The shooting occurred around 8:20 p.m. at the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) camp in Lamphel, where Havildar Sanjay Kumar, attached to the 120th battalion, opened fire, killing a constable and a sub-inspector on the spot, sources said. He then turned the weapon on himself and was later declared dead.
Eight CRPF personnel sustained injuries in the incident and were moved to the Regional Institute of Medical Sciences in Imphal for treatment, they added.
Authorities are investigating the circumstances leading to the shooting, but no official statement has been issued by the force.
