Chandigarh, June 13: The state administration has implemented a digital portal designed to provide citizens with direct access to land records and eliminate intermediary exploitation in regional revenue offices, Punjab Vidhan Sabha Speaker Kultar Singh Sandhwan announced.
The initiative aims to simplify a system that previously required millions of residents to navigate bureaucratic hurdles and multiple office visits. Speaking in Chandigarh, the legislative leader urged community representatives, village heads, and younger residents to actively promote the online platform within their localities to encourage widespread adoption.
“With the launch of Easy Jamabandi, there is absolutely no need to visit a Patwari office, stand in queues, or pay bribes,” Speaker Sandhwan stated, noting that property owners can now safely download verified documents from their homes.
The speaker noted that nearly four million citizens previously faced extensive delays at local record centers and service windows to obtain standard land registry copies. The updated framework integrates five core digital services into a single system, including title transfer tracking, clerical error corrections, and property transaction logging.
A specialized monitoring tool has also been introduced to protect property listings, particularly for non-resident investors. The system sends instant electronic alerts via mobile messaging or email if any unauthorized attempt is made to modify a registered land record, allowing owners to file timely legal objections.
Residents can utilize the system through three official pathways, which include an interactive online portal, the state telephone helpline, or assisted desks at neighborhood service centers. The speaker affirmed that these measures align with the administration’s policy of establishing transparent public delivery systems across all districts.
