SAS Nagar, February 08, 2025 – The District Administration of SAS Nagar has directed the registration of an FIR against illegal mining at an unauthorized site in Miyanpur Changar.
Deputy Commissioner Aashika Jain stated that upon receiving reports of illegal mining, a team led by SDM Kharar Gurmander Singh, along with Naib Tehsildar Majri Raghvit Singh, Executive Engineer Drainage-cum-Mines and Geology Akash Aggarwal, and SDO Pardeep Kumar, inspected the site.
Their preliminary report confirmed illegal mining activities, with extracted material consisting of sand, gravel, and earth.
Following the report submitted by the Executive Engineer, the administration recommended the FIR to the district police for further investigation.
Jain stressed that strict action would be taken against anyone found involved in illegal mining.
The district administration has also imposed a ban on mining activities after sunset to regulate operations.
Authorities, including the Mines and Geology Department, have been instructed to implement surveillance measures such as CCTV monitoring to curb illegal excavation.
Jain reiterated that mining in the district would only be allowed at sites approved by the Mines and Geology Department, warning that violators would face strict legal action.
