Chandigarh, June 19:The Punjab Government launched an educational welfare program providing completely free coaching for the upcoming Probationary Officer (Bank) and Assistant Administrative Officer (LIC/GIC) competitive examinations. The initiative aims to support qualified graduates belonging to Scheduled Castes, Other Backward Classes, and minority communities by eliminating the financial barrier of steep academy fees.

The coaching sessions are scheduled to take place at the Ambedkar Institute of Careers and Courses located in Phase-3B2, SAS Nagar, Mohali. Eligible permanent residents of Punjab whose total annual family income remains below Rs. 3 lakh can submit their physical applications or register by emailing ambedkarinstitute013@gmail.com until June 30, 2026.

Announcing the program, Social Justice, Empowerment and Minorities Minister Dr. Baljit Kaur stated that the administration seeks to empower underprivileged candidates through high-quality training and career mentoring.

“Talent should never be held back by economic hardship. Our Government is committed to providing deserving youth with the guidance, resources and opportunities they need to succeed in competitive examinations and turn their aspirations into reality,” the Minister declared.

She maintained that the state is actively building pathways to help local students secure professional roles within public sector banks and premier insurance institutions.

The selection of candidates for the program will be finalized based on a short objective-type entrance assessment covering quantitative aptitude, logical reasoning, current events, and general English. This examination is scheduled for July 3, 2026, directly at the Mohali training institute. Administrative representatives noted that this scheme aligns closely with the broader developmental goals of the current leadership, ensuring that economic challenges do not prevent skilled students from achieving institutional career growth.
