Rajpora, 29 November 2024 – The Government Railway Police (GRP) recovered 1.9 kilograms of opium at Rajpura Railway Station and arrested a suspect on November 27. According to DSP Jagmohan Singh, the operation was conducted under the supervision of Special DGP Railway Shashi Prabha Dwivedi.
A team led by SI Sukhwinder Singh intercepted a man identified as Baljit Singh, a resident of Rahon village in Khanna, Ludhiana, at the west end of platform 1. During the search, 1.9 kg of opium was found in his possession.
A case under Section 18/16/85 of the NDPS Act has been registered at GRP Patiala. After the arrest, the accused was presented in court and granted one-day police remand for further investigation.
