Chandigarh, October 25, 2024: If you’re considering moving to Canada, recent developments from the IGI Police reveal the risks of falling prey to fraudulent immigration schemes.
Reportedly, a crackdown on a fake visa-making gang has led to the arrest of six agents and one passenger, including two women.
The arrested individuals have been identified as Prateek Shah (alias Abhijit), Gaurav, Nitin Sharma, Sarabjit Kaur (alias Simarpreet Kaur), Gagandeep (alias Mahi), Kuldeep, and Reena Kaushal. The suspects were apprehended across various locations in Gujarat, Haryana, and Punjab.
This case sheds light on how some individuals exploit the dreams of young people seeking a brighter future abroad, often risking their own and their families’ futures for a few rupees, police said.
The IGI Police’s efforts aim to protect aspiring immigrants from such deceptive practice, police added.
